The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) is organizing several job fairs outside Metro Manila this March, aiming to provide more job opportunities for Filipinos across the country. These fairs are part of the government’s efforts to promote inclusive growth, reduce poverty, and support both the workforce and micro, small, and medium enterprises in rural areas.
Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma emphasized that the job fairs are part of the government’s Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas program, which aims to connect vulnerable groups to stable income opportunities.
Laguesma also noted that DoLE’s initiatives, including the digitalization of public employment services through platforms like PhilJobNet and the PESO Employment Information System, are designed to enhance job access, improve efficiency, and streamline application processes for jobseekers.
Laguesma further stated that the job fairs are a key component in sustaining post-pandemic employment gains and helping boost the labor market as part of the Marcos administration’s poverty reduction efforts.
As of January 2025, the Philippine Statistics Authority reported an employment rate of 95.7 percent, reflecting an increase in the number of employed Filipinos to 48.9 million, up from 45.9 million in January 2024.
These job fairs are a valuable opportunity for jobseekers to find employment, and for companies to connect with potential employees in their local communities.
