The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported on Saturday afternoon the arrest of a female Japanese national suspected of being a member of the notorious “Luffy” gang, which has been linked to numerous theft and fraud cases in Japan.
BI Commissioner Atty. Joel Anthony Viado identified the suspect as 33-year-old Natsuki Kimura, who was apprehended on Friday along Ayala Avenue in Makati City by the BI Fugitive Search Unit.
According to Viado, Kimura was arrested based on a summary deportation order issued by the Bureau’s Board of Commissioners in March 2023, declaring her an undesirable alien.
Viado explained that Kimura is one of several suspected members of the Luffy gang apprehended by the BI, following revelations from Japanese authorities regarding their presence in the country.
“Kimura will be flown back to Japan once all necessary clearances and travel arrangements are finalized. Like her fellow gang members, she will be deported, and her name will be added to the BI blacklist, barring her from reentering the Philippines,” he said.
