Based on a Securities and Exchange Commission certificate of incorporation, the power broker once served as a director of a private firm now at the center of a controversial government broadcasting contract. The private firm cornered a juicy contract in a joint venture with another state-owned firm despite having an authorized capital of only P1 million, as shown on its 2024 General Information Sheet.
In June 2024, the lady was terminated and replaced as acting general manager of the state broadcasting firm.
Several supposed members of the firm’s employees association picketed the broadcast firm in support of the ousted lady executive but insiders of the media unit belittled this, claiming the protesting group was organized by the manipulator herself.
Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) documents showed that government station PTV 4 under general manager Toby Nebrida sought a huge amount that is about 300 percent of the former price for the renewal of the contract for the airing of lotto draws.
The quotation was submitted to the PCSO dated 22 July 2024, furnished by the PCSO to this paper, it said that the total quoted amount for the airing, editing and other particulars of the lotto draw are priced P56,752,084.91 per month or P681,025,018.88 a year.
The exorbitant demand prompted PCSO to choose Digital 8 and IBC-13 joint venture which offered P178.5 million for the same deal.
