Batac City, Ilocos Norte – A 38-year-old street-level drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Batac City Police Station and other law enforcement units on Monday evening, 10 March 2025.
The suspect, identified as Vaniejoy Lelius Yate y Biding, a resident of Brgy. 30 Baoa West, was apprehended around 9:40 AM following an anti-drug operation led by PLTCOL Adrian L. Gayuchan in coordination with PDEU-INPPO, PIU-INPPO, PDEA INPPO, and Ilocos Norte Maritime Police Station.
Authorities seized suspected shabu with an estimated total weight of 1.5 grams, with a standard drug price of ₱6,800.00, along with a .38 caliber revolver and other non-drug items.
The suspect will face multiple charges, including violations of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and COMELEC Resolution No. 11067 for violating the nationwide gun ban in connection with the ongoing election period.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and will undergo medical examination and drug testing. The confiscated items will be subjected to further laboratory and ballistic examination, and necessary documents are being prepared for the formal filing of charges.
