The Makati FC’s girls team is making a blueprint in shaping the next generation of football stars in the Philippines.

The club is currently setting a new standard in Philippine football by strategically blending high-caliber international players from nearby countries like Thailand and Indonesia with promising local academy talents.

This approach has helped the club dominate the Ang Liga, which showcases the power of mixing global experience with homegrown skills.

Makati FC has reached the final of the U19 tournament, beating Tuloy FC, 4-1, with Cebuana Yona De La Calzada and Thai Kawinthida Kikuntod each scoring a brace.

The team will play Beach Hut FC for all the marbles at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the brand-new Mall of Asia Football Pitch.

By giving young players access to top-level talent, the club is not only enhancing the local talents’ technical skills but also elevating their overall game.

Its approach isn’t just about winning domestically — it’s about preparing athletes for the global stage, raising the bar for the local leagues and creating a sustainable and better future.

Last year, Makati FC’s girls U12 team became the first Filipino youth squad to play against England’s top football academy clubs.

It was also the same Girls 12 (2012) squad which ruled in the Gothia World Youth Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden — the largest youth tournament in the world with over 1,500 teams from 80 different countries.
