5 nabbed at Bataan drug bust

CAMP PFC CIRILO S TOLENTINO, Bataan — Five persons were arrested anew Friday in a renewed campaign by the police headed by police director Col. Palmer Z. Tria against illegal drugs in Bataan.

In Morong town, Captain Carlito Buco Jr., chief of police, launched a buy bust operation, in coordination with PDEA and Bataan PNP personnel on Friday in Barangay Sabang, Morong, that resulted in the arrest of three drug personalities and confiscation of 2.89 grams of shabu, with a standard drug price of P19,652 and other drug paraphernalia.

Col. Tria said criminal complaints on Sections 5, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, Article II of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be slapped against the suspects.

In Samal town, Lt. Orlando L. Perez, newly-designated chief of police, also conducted a buy-bust operation at the aforesaid place after proper coordination with PDEA RO3 Control no. 10004-032025-0167, resulting to the arrest of a man and a woman in Barangay San Roque, Samal, Bataan.

The operation, Perez reported, resulted in the arrest of the suspects identified only as Asiong, male, 32 years old construction worker, and one Mely female, 27 years, housewife both residents of Barangay Lalawigan, Samal.

According to Perez, the two connived with each other in selling one piece small-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to the PNP poseur-buyer in exchange for one marked P500 bill.

The confiscated drugs/shabu weighed approximately MOL 1.8 grams, with an estimated SDP of MOL P12, 240.

“The inventory and markings of the pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in compliance with Section 21 of RA 9165. The arrested suspects arrived in the area of operation on board a Yamaha Mioi 125, colored blue, bearing plate number 867CMV.”

For his part, Col. Tria said “Bataan PNP will continue to work tirelessly, in close collaboration with our communities, to dismantle drug groups and protect our residents from the dangers that these illegal activities bring. These PNP-Community joint efforts with the aim to achieve a drug-free Bataan and uphold the values of peace, security and justice for every individual in our province.”
