The holding of a concert is sometimes dependent on the stage. The lack of a platform on which the performer could execute elaborate and high-tech production numbers was among the reasons the Philippines was excluded from Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, according to reports.

Another singer, Shakira, postponed her concert in Medellín, Colombia scheduled on 24 February because organizers saw damage in the roof over the stage.

Concert promoter Páramo Presenta said Shakira’s performance would be rescheduled because the damaged roof posed a risk to the performers, the crew and the crowd, Billboard reports.

American singer and rapper Kid Rock had a different reason for suspending his show.

When the 54-year-old singer of “All Summer Long” performed as a guest at the birthday party for David Bryan, Jon Bon Jovi’s keyboard player, at Bon Jovi’s Nashville bar in Tennessee, USA on 8 February, he stopped singing halfway through his rendition of “Proud Mary” by Creedence Clearwater Revival alongside a band, USA Today reports.

“Hey, hey, stop ... if you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go,” Kid Rock told the audience.

Kid Rock resumed singing and started clapping his hands over his head to urge the crowd to follow. When only a few of the audience clapped, Kid Rock stopped singing again and said, “You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone,” according to USA Today.

He then left the stage.
