Globe has successfully turned over AI-enabled tablets, Blue Boards, and Globe Fiber Prepaid WiFi to five schools nationwide through its G-Gantic Goals initiative, aimed at promoting technology in education and responsible digital citizenship.
From 20 to 27 January, Globe, in partnership with Ayala Foundation and Khan Academy, extended its support to CENTEX Manila, Pasong Kawayan 2 West Elementary School in Cavite, Lahug Elementary School in Cebu, CENTEX Batangas, and Pampanga High School in San Fernando City. Each school received 20 tablets pre-loaded with Globe’s Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP) modules, Khan Academy’s educational resources, and AI applications designed to enhance education and creativity.
The initiative is part of Globe's G-Gantic Goals, which raised over 100,000 rewards points from customers to help provide students with access to digital learning tools. Globe aims to equip students with digital skills, improve AI literacy, and promote responsible internet use.
In addition to providing digital learning tools, Globe conducted workshops on cyberbullying prevention, online safety, and responsible AI use. The company also partnered with Khan Academy to bring world-class learning resources to Filipino students.
Khan Academy Executive Director Denise Fabella highlighted the impact of the partnership, saying, “Technology is a powerful tool that, when used responsibly, can transform education.”
The initiative also aligns with the Ayala Foundation’s efforts to strengthen Centers of Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX), providing digital infrastructure and promoting critical thinking and digital literacy among students.
“We can transform learning environments, drive student success, and create a brighter future for the next generation of Filipinos,” said Gucci Estrella Trinidad, Head of Strategy and Impact at Ayala Foundation.
The Digital Thumbprint Program workshops have proven beneficial, with Pampanga High School Principal Richard Agustin noting that the program helps students understand the impact of their online actions and the importance of digital responsibility.
Globe remains committed to bridging the digital gap, providing students with technology, connectivity, and digital literacy programs that promote safe and responsible online behavior.
