Jeffrey de Luna and Roberto Gomez made it to the Round of 32 after beating their respective foes while veteran Django Bustamante’s drive towards a third straight title came to a full stop in the Las Vegas Open at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Gomez made it to the Round of 32 after a 2-1 victory over Daniel Marciol of Poland in the winners qualification while De Luna dominated over Mateusz Sniegocki, also from Poland, 2-0 in the same round.
Both Filipinos are assured of taking home $1,094 or around P63,300.
Gomez is facing home bet Laz Martinez at press time.
Meanwhile, De Luna is taking on Gerson Martinez Boza of Peru as of writing.
Bustamante’s run in the Las Vegas Open came to an end after a 0-2 loss to Sniegocki in the losers qualification round.
Bustamante had earlier won the 2025 Bayou State Classic One-Ball One Pocket in Iberia, Louisiana and the 29th Annual Jay Swanson Memorial in Las Vegas.
The 61-year-old cue artist turns his focus to the Mixed Doubles Open on Tuesday where he joins forces with women’s nine-ball champion Rubilen Amit.
Also eliminated in the Las Vegas Open was Mark Estiola after getting swept by Martinez Boza in the losers qualification.
