The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) has urged the Bureau of Immigration to prevent individuals formerly associated with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) from taking connecting flights after they are deported.

“We made a plea to the Bureau of Immigration. We asked them not to allow transit flights for deportation, especially if they involve voluntary or summary deportation, particularly for Chinese nationals,” PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio said in a news forum.

He expressed concern that some deportees used connecting flights through other countries to disappear before they could reach their final destination.

“Some Chinese citizens are being clever — they book tickets for deportation with layovers, like Manila-Kuala Lumpur or Manila-Macau-Shanghai. Upon arrival in Macau or Kuala Lumpur, they don’t board their connecting flight to China. This should not be allowed,” Casio said.

He emphasized that deportation flights should be direct to the final destination.
