SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Supermalls, has teamed up with the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) Philippines to support the All Lights Village project, which aims to provide sustainable energy solutions to underserved rural communities.
The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on 14 February 2025 at SM Prime Headquarters.
The All Lights Village project focuses on improving the quality of life for families living in off-grid areas by providing solar lighting, educational resources, and livelihood opportunities. The initiative is designed to promote clean energy and sustainable development while empowering communities in need.
As part of the collaboration, SM Cares will set up fundraising booths at SM Aura, SM Megamall, and SM Mall of Asia. Proceeds from the booths will go directly to the All Lights Village project, helping more families gain access to solar lighting and other resources.
Joaquin San Agustin, Executive Vice President for Marketing of SM Supermalls, expressed the company’s commitment to the project. “SM Cares is proud to support the All Lights Village project and its mission of empowering communities through sustainable development. By providing these families with clean energy and opportunities, we are not just lighting homes but also paving the way for brighter, more hopeful futures," he said.
Leonard Faustino, Executive Director of GPF Philippines, highlighted the shared vision behind the partnership. “This partnership with SM Cares reflects a shared vision of creating lasting change in communities that need it the most. Together, we are proving that even the smallest actions, like providing light, can spark transformative impact.”
The All Lights Village project has already impacted rural areas by reducing dependence on harmful kerosene lamps and providing children with safe spaces to study. The partnership aims to expand the initiative, benefiting even more families and creating long-term improvements in these communities.
Details about the fundraising booths’ locations and schedules will be announced soon.
