Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. has issued a maximum suggested retail price (SRP) for rice amid persistently high prices, despite a 20-percent tariff cut.

Authorities expect the maximum SRP to bring rice prices down to ₱49 per kilo by March, following the DA’s enforcement of a maximum SRP of ₱52 per kilo.
