Fifty-one women from Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental completed the ELEVATE AIDA (Artificial Intelligence Data Annotation) program, equipping them with digital skills for remote work. The initiative, led by Aboitiz InfraCapital, Aboitiz Foundation, Connected Women, and the local government, provides free training in AI-related tasks like image identification and data labeling.
The graduates were recognized in a ceremony on 7 February 2025, with one already securing a job.
“This graduation is a celebration of empowerment, resilience, and opportunity. Empowering these women unlocks greater opportunities for their families and communities,” said Aboitiz InfraCapital President & CEO Cosette V. Canilao.
Aboitiz Foundation President Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar emphasized the role of women in community transformation, stating, “Through ELEVATE AIDA, we equip women — including solo parents, homemakers, and unemployed mothers — with digital skills that open doors to new opportunities.”
Mayor Diosdado T. Obsioma highlighted the program’s impact, saying, “The ELEVATE AIDA program gives women in our town the tools to improve their lives.”
Connected Women CEO Agnes Gervacio encouraged graduates to seize opportunities in the digital workforce. Graduate Doreen Lagunsad shared, “This program has given me confidence and growth.”
