Operatives from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 218 individuals during a weeklong series of anti-illegal drug and anti-criminality operations.

Acting QCPD director P/Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. on Sunday said that the arrests included 64 wanted persons, 74 individuals involved in illegal gambling, 75 drug suspects, and five people for illegal possession of firearms.

During the week, police conducted 50 anti-drug operations, resulting in the arrest of 75 drug suspects and the confiscation of illegal drugs worth P2,062,824.

The campaign against wanted persons resulted in the arrest of 64 individuals, including 29 listed as Most Wanted Persons and 35 others wanted for various crimes.

Among those arrested were Joel Bohol, listed as the No. 2 Station Level Most Wanted Person of Pasong Putik Police Station (PS 16) for murder. He had been a fugitive for 27 years.

Also arrested was Normel Trajano, wanted for murder. He had evaded arrest for 13 years while Cristy Ramones Santos, listed as the No. 10 Station Level Most Wanted Person of Project 6 Police Station (PS 15) for theft, was also apprehended. She had been a fugitive for eight years.

Meantime, Elsid Premista delos Santos — wanted for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 — was also arrested after seven years in hiding.

Paul Pantoja Aguirre, wanted for slight physical injuries and damage to property; Raymon Elnar Milan, wanted for malicious mischief and Jerryn Pilado, wanted for violating the gun ban under Republic Act 7166, were also taken into custody after six years on the run.

Buslig said the respective courts of origin have been notified of the arrests.

At least 31 operations targeting illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of 74 individuals and the confiscation of P24,147 in bet money.

Five operations targeting loose firearms led to the recovery of five firearms and the arrest of five individuals.

“We will not stop enforcing the law to maintain peace and order in Quezon City. These operations prove that the QCPD is serious about fighting crime,” Buslig said.
