Iniulat ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) ang 23 volcanic earthquake sa Bulkang Kanlaon sa Negros Island na hudyat ng patuloy na pag-aalburoto nito noong Biyernes ng umaga.
Ayon sa pinakahuling bulletin, ang bulkan ay nagbuga din ng 4,186 tonelada ng sulfur dioxide, na may 75 metrong taas na plume na umaanod sa timog-kanluran.
Ang aktibidad ng bulkan ay nananatiling mataas at nagpapahiwatig na ito ay patuloy na aktibo. Ang madalang na paglabas ng abo nito ay naobserbahan din.
Nananatiling may bisa ang Alert Level 3, na nagbabala ng posibleng magmatic eruption kasunod ng pagsabog ng Kanlaon noong 9 Disyembre 2024. Patuloy na tinututukan ng mga awtoridad ang sitwasyon.
Muling iginiit ng PHIVOLCS na dapat manatiling off-limits ang anim na kilometrong danger zone sa paligid ng bulkan at pinayuhan din nito na huwag magpalipad ng sasakyang panghimpapawid malapit dito.
Dahil sa patuloy na pagiging aktibo ng bulkan, nagdeklara ng state of calamity ang Negros Oriental.
