Archivo 1984 has proudly re-launched Eddie Boy Escudero’s celebrated photobook When We Danced — a visual narrative of portraits and vignettes paying homage to the 1990s Manila rave scene.
The photo book captures the pulsating energy, unique characters and unforgettable nights that defined a cultural moment in the city’s history. More than a collection of images, it’s a time capsule that commemoratively eternalized a vibrant chapter of Manila’s nightlife history that showcases the unifying power of music and the spirit of community that thrived in the ‘90s.
The re-launch coincided with the joint birthday party of Eddie Boy Escudero and Tim Yap, who was making his mark in the Manila social scene during the ‘90s. The evening soundtrack of the event was curated by none other than local rave scene legends Cocoy Puyat and Toti Dalmacion.
