Thousands of Batangueños gathered in the Municipality of Bauan for the Prayer Rally for a Peaceful Batangas, a significant event promoting unity, faith, and peace ahead of the upcoming elections.
The program began with a Walk for Peace at around 12:30 PM, starting from Bauan Technical High School and ending at Plaza Orense.
The walk symbolized the collective aspiration of Batangueños for a peaceful and orderly election.
Various sectors of society participated, including religious leaders, government officials, the LGBTQ community, and Bauan residents, coming together to pray for peace and order in the province.
The event was also attended by notable personalities such as Vice Mayor Jay Manalo Ilagan, a gubernatorial candidate; Congressman Rodante Marcoleta, a senatorial candidate; former Congressman Raneo Abu; and local government officials from Batangas' Second District and the Municipality of Bauan. In their messages, they emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation instead of political conflict and division.
According to former Congressman Raneo Abu, “We are here to promote peace, for our district, province, and the whole nation.”.”
Batangas gubernatorial candidate Ilagan also reiterated his commitment to the people of Batangas, stating that he will be the Batangueños' vanguard of peace and unity to make the province world-class.
Meanwhile, Congressman Marcoleta warned voters not to sell their votes, a perennial problem during nationwide elections.
According to United Batangas for Peace, the organizer of the prayer rally, the event was not just about the elections but also a step toward maintaining a culture of peace in Batangas.
As the elections draw near, the gathering serves as a reminder that true public service should be rooted in integrity, respect, and peace.
