SI class 1975 reunites, rekindles historic past
From rags-to-richest that her background was inspiring and worth knowing, Marie Salim had also rekindled how difficult her life was when she was in her youthful days in this once sleepy town in the North.

SANTIAGO, Ilocos Sur — After 50 long years, High School Batch 1975 of the Santiago Institute (SI) held a three-day grand reunion, where they rekindled their memorable, historic past.
In rekindling their youthful days, some of them shared their lamentable and unforgettable past brought about by hardships in life in this then 5th class municipality.
Most of those who have successful stories in life are those working abroad, such as in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Hawaii and others.
What is more laudable is that this SI class 1975 is always extending a helping hand to the needy and to their classmates who have no other persons to turn to in times of crisis.
Now one of the successful products of SI batch 1975, Cristina Cabural-dela Cruz of barangay Guinabang, often wiped her tears of joy as she narrated how hardship she had went through in her youthful days, being a lone sibling.
Dela Cruz or Tina as fondly called by her classmates is now successfully settled in Canada with her family.
So with Rosemarie Amor-Salim, now working with her family in the US, and has two siblings — both medical doctors in profession.
From rags-to-richest that her background was inspiring and worth knowing, Marie Salim had also rekindled how difficult her life was when she was in her youthful days in this once sleepy town in the North.
