CEBU City – With the 2025 midterm elections just months away, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Anton Lagdameo took a step toward consolidating political support ahead of the polls during the Sinulog Festival here.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s SAP has recently met with key lawmakers and government candidates from across the country where he hopes that it "signals a united front for the administration’s slate."
“It is important to have a unified call with other political players, especially as the country faces political divisions. Unity is key to ensuring that we continue to move forward as a nation,” Lagdameo said.
With the Sinulog Festival serving as the backdrop and attracts millions of Filipinos and key political players every year, Lagdameo stressed that he took the chance to echo the administration's goal of achieving unity and prosperity.
He also engaged with various politicians, assessing their local situations and rallying them under a common goal, weeks before the start of the campaign period.
Other political figures that Lagdameo met with were Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia and Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia, Senator JV Ejercito, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Undersecretary Terence Calatrava, Negros Oriental Governor Chaco Sagarbarria, former Senator Kiko Pangilinan and his wife Sharon Cuneta.
