There’s a local saying that goes, “galit ang magnanakaw sa kapwa magnanakaw.” The reason why a thief has contempt for another thief can be explained by a recent burglary case in Jaipur, India.

The city’s police arrested on Thursday two local men for allegedly stealing mobile music equipment, laptops, large LED batteries, mixers, light rolls and a pick-up truck from a house near Harmada, the Times of India (ToI) reports.

Prakash Chand Meena and Vikram Singh Meena allegedly broke into the house of Roshan Jat on 30 December and hauled away the equipment.

“During the investigation, we found that the complainant was also an alleged vehicle thief who used stolen pickups and SUVs to commit thefts. We are now investigating whether the DJ equipment and machines taken from him were stolen property,” police chief Amir Khumar said, according to ToI.

In Quezon City, meanwhile, a 19-year-old woman sought the help of barangay officials after she was allegedly robbed of P19,000 in cash inside Nepa Q Mart last week.

Village watchmen immediately went around the public market and nabbed a man who had three sachets of illegal drugs and a knife in his possession, 24 Oras Weekend reports. The suspect was turned over to police and jailed.

A day later, a man went to the barangay office to report that a thief had broken into his house and stole four mobile phones and his wallet containing P5,900 and IDs.

Viewing CCTV footage from the camera outside the house of the complainant, Al Pardilla, the officials saw the woman they had assisted in Nepa Q Mart entering and leaving the home.

Police arrested the woman, who admitted stealing Pardilla’s wallet and cellphones. The woman told the authorities she sold the gadgets for P4,000 in a mall in Manila.

The stolen phones were recovered and returned to Pardilla who said he would still press charges against the thief, according to 24 Oras Weekend.
