The Philippine national women’s futsal team stakes its unbeaten run against Australia for the AFC Futsal Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers on Sunday at the Yunusobod Sport Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The Nationals kick-off their quest at 6 p.m. (Manila time) as they attempt to clinch a spot for the Futsal Women’s Asian Cup in China from 7 to 18 May.

So far, the Australians are on top of Group C after three straight wins.

Meanwhile, the Philippines is in second with a 2-1-0 win-draw-loss record.

Only the top two teams of each group and the best third-placed team will advance to the Futsal Women’s Asian Cup.

The Philippines needs to win or force a draw against the Australians to enter the Futsal Women’s Asian Cup.

But going up against the Aussies will be easier said than done.

Australia so far has only conceded two goals in the qualifiers.

Nikkita Fazzari is also one of the leading scorers in the qualifiers with five goals.

The Philippines will lean on forward Katrina Guillou, who scored four goals in three games.

Bella Flanigan and Dionesa Tolentin are also expected to be scoring threats with two goals each.

This is part of the Nationals’ buildup for the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in the Philippines from 21 November to 7 December.
