Aston Martin reveals the new Vantage Roadster, the convertible counterpart to the celebrated Vantage Coupe.
Released in 2024, the Roadster blends iconic luxury with top-tier performance and the thrill of roof-down driving, embodying Aston Martin’s commitment to engineering excellence.
Powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, the Vantage Roadster delivers 665 PS and 800 Nm of torque, matching the coupe’s impressive figures.
The car sprints from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202 mph. Despite the addition of its convertible roof, a weight increase of just 60 kg ensures agility and handling remain uncompromised.
The advanced Z-fold roof system operates in 6.8 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph, making it the fastest in its class and adding to the car’s dynamic appeal.
Developed alongside the coupe, the Roadster shares its exceptional performance capabilities.
The engine benefits from larger turbochargers, revised camshaft profiles, and an optimized compression ratio, increasing power output by 155 PS and torque by 115 Nm over its predecessor.
This immense power is managed by an eight-speed paddle-shift transmission and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, ensuring precision and control in any driving condition.
The car’s lightweight aluminum structure, composite body panels, and a near-perfect 49:51 weight distribution create an ideal base for its suspension system.
Race-inspired double-wishbone front suspension, a multi-link rear axle, and bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires ensure superior grip, steering feel and balance.
With Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers and advanced electronic systems, including a six-axis sensor architecture and adjustable traction control, the Roadster adapts seamlessly to road or track conditions.
The braking system includes 410 mm carbon-ceramic discs and six-piston monoblock calipers, delivering consistent stopping power.
These features, combined with the Z-fold roof’s minimal impact on weight and center of gravity, reinforce the Roadster’s dynamic capabilities.
Aston Martin’s signature aesthetics shine in the Roadster, which retains the bold stance and sharp lines of the coupe.
The widened grille enhances airflow for the powerful V8 engine, while the seamless integration of the roof ensures the car looks equally stunning with the top up or down.
New paint colors like Iridescent Sapphire and Bronze Flare, alongside four roof color options, allow extensive customization.
Customers can further personalize their Roadster with 21 paint liveries, four wheel designs, and seven brake caliper colors.
The cabin maintains a luxurious yet sporty feel, featuring high-quality materials and Aston Martin’s next-generation infotainment system.
This advanced system includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with gesture controls and physical buttons for intuitive operation.
The standard 11-speaker audio system provides a premium sound experience, while an optional Bowers & Wilkins upgrade offers unmatched acoustics for audiophiles.
The Vantage Roadster celebrates 75 years of open-top Aston Martins, beginning with the Vantage upgrade for the DB2 in 1950.
It also marks the 20th anniversary of the V8 Vantage, the first standalone Vantage model built at Aston Martin’s Gaydon facility.
Deliveries begin in Q2 2025, with the Roadster joining Aston Martin’s lineup alongside the Vantage Coupe, DB12, DBX707, Vanquish, and the forthcoming Valhalla supercar. This release underscores the brand’s most comprehensive and capable lineup in its 112-year history.
“The Vantage Roadster is a fully reinvented experience, combining the coupe’s benefits with unparalleled roof-down thrills. It’s a class-leading sports car that redefines open-air driving.”, Adrian Hallmark, Aston Martin’s ceo said.
“Developing the Roadster alongside the coupe ensured we retained its dynamic capabilities. Meticulous tuning delivers an unmatched open-air experience,” Simon Newton, director of vehicle performance, said.
“This Roadster is a sculptural masterpiece. Its sound and form create a visceral connection that transcends driving into unmatched sensory delight,” Marek Reichman, chief creative officer, added.
