A significant milestone for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) was achieved Saturday when the agency proudly announced that its Flight Standards Inspectorate Service (FSIS) hadsreceived ISO 9001:2015 certification.
According to CAAP, following four prior attempts in recent years, this accomplishment highlights the agency’s tenacity, dedication to ongoing development, and conformity to global quality standards.
For quality management systems, the ISO 9001:2015 certification is an internationally recognized standard. This honor is a testament to FSIS’s commitment to improving passenger safety, operational excellence and public trust in the Philippine aviation sector. In the international aviation community, it further solidifies CAAP’s standing as a preeminent regulatory organization.
Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo, CAAP Director General, commended the efforts and commitment of FSIS personnel under the leadership of Acting Assistant Director General II Captain Florendo Jose Aquino.
“CAAP’s dedication to the Filipino people and the aviation sector is demonstrated by this accreditation. It demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible service and safety, boosting confidence in our operations both domestically and abroad,” Tamayo stated.
Within CAAP, FSIS is an important aspect that certifies recognized training organizations, maintenance organizations, and commercial and general aviation operators. FSIS also guarantees adherence to national and international standards, coordinates regulations amongst agencies, supervises the issuing of airman licenses, and supports the agency’s overarching goal of advancing Philippine aviation.
As the agency continues to work to align its operations with international best practices and uphold its commitment to providing great customer service, this achievement inspires other CAAP divisions to strive for similar criteria.
