General Santos city — The provincial government of South Cotabato has granted a six-year tax holiday to an agricultural firm to bolster the sector and stimulate economic growth.
According to South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., the tax break granted to Nutri Hogs Corporation under the province’s Investment Incentives Code will benefit the company’s half-billion-peso agricultural venture in Barangay Glamang, Polomolok.
Tamayo added that the incentive aligns with his administration’s vision of fostering a business-friendly environment and driving inclusive, sustainable development.
“This tax holiday highlights South Cotabato’s commitment to attracting investments that strengthen the local economy and foster progress for the community,” Tamayo said in a statement.
The Nutri Hogs project is expected to generate significant job opportunities, catalyze economic activity, and advance modern farming techniques in the province. It is also anticipated to create a ripple effect across related industries, such as logistics, supply chain and agribusiness support services.
South Cotabato’s Investment Incentives Code provides tax holidays and other benefits to enterprises that invest in priority sectors, including agriculture, tourism and manufacturing.
Local officials expressed optimism that the project would uplift the community’s economic standing while preserving its agricultural heritage.
