BAGUIO CITY — In a special session at 3 p.m. of 27 December, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of La Union Province approved the allotment of funds for the incentives to be given to the deserving employees of all the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) offices.
La Union Vice Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega expressed gratitude to the members of the SP who attended a special session to discuss the supplemental budget for the Transformative Governance Performance Towards Service Excellence Incentive (PRAISE). He said they have to act fast as it is their last session for this year and the incentives should be given to the employees before the year ends.
“If the taxes are the life blood of the government, the employees are the lifeblood...in running the services of the government for all our province mates...they are my priorities, said the Vice-governor and the presiding officer of the SP. He said that it is good that there is a quorum at their special session.”
The proposed appropriation ordinance was then endorsed and sponsored by Chairperson of the Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriations Board Member Chary Nisce. The ordinance was approved unanimously by the other SP members.
On 23 December, the Civil Service Commission Region 1 approved the Enhanced PRAISE Guidelines of the PGLU. The Request for the appropriation ordinance for the purpose was transmitted to the SP on 26 December that was immediately acted upon by the SP of La Union.
