When the British owner of a seaside bread and breakfast inn received glove puppets from his cousin when he was five, it started a collection spree lasting to today.
Martin Scott Price, 67, keeps his more than 1,000 puppets — including French marionettes, automatons, and magicians’ props — beneath his guest house in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, the New York Post (NYP) reports.
“When they (guests) come down to see the collection they go, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen so many puppets together,’” said Martin, according to NYP.
Martin also travels to give outdoor shows for children and adults with his puppets.
As he doesn’t have a family to leave the collection to, Martin wishes to have all of it housed in one museum for people to view after he departs this world.
Meanwhile, German couple Susanne and Thomas Jeromin have their own mesmerizing collection at their home in Rinteln.
Living in a house over-decorated for the holiday is an understatement considering that their collection of Christmas trees is all over the place, including the bathroom.
The 605 Christmas trees adorned with 120,000 ornaments, 50,000 lights, and thousands of figurines make the Jeromins the world record holder for the most number of decorated Christmas trees in one place, Reuters reports.
