Gift wrappers add to the mountains of trash generated during the holiday celebration. Some people avoid this by using earth-friendly ways to wrap Christmas presents.

One of these methods is by reusing wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, and gift bags. The method is low impact as well as low cost.

TikToker Krystalynn Gier showed in a video how to turn used brown packing paper and paper bags into gift wrap.

TikTokers Amanda Niccum and Haileen Carvalho suggested reusable, cinchable gift bags and reusable Christmas totes that are sturdier and cheaper than paper gift bags, Fox News reports.

Environmentalist @tiny_waste played a TikTok video on how to wrap gifts in fabric with Christmas prints.

But the best environment-friendly gift wrappers were those used by indigenous Aeta of Barangay Casispalan, Tagkawayan, Quezon during a recent exchange-gift organized by civic group Tagkawayan Vines.

A viral video taken by Jann Santillan and shared to GMA News showed the participants in the exchange-gift one by one picking a paper stub with the name of a gift giver.

They opened their gifts that were wrapped in leaves and inside found papayas, coconuts, camote tops and other crops planted by fellow tribe members.

The gifts were not pricey unlike other exchange gifts but the fruits and vegetables were grown through hard work and were given with the personal touch of the Aeta gift-giver.
