Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation Secretary Larry Gadon on Monday belied Vice President Sara Duterte’s statement that her office used their “confidential fund” in “relation to their work and national security” and targeted towards poverty alleviation.
He added that what the Vice President needs to explain is the more than a thousand persons certified by the Philippine Statistics Authority who have no birth records, “who acted as the recipients of millions of her confidential funds.”
Gadon called on the Vice President to resign out of “delicadeza” as “what she has done, in listing bogus names as recipients of her confidential funds, is mere graft and corruption. She should not wait for the impeachment case against her.”
“Poverty alleviation and national security. She is not the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development). She is not the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the National Defense, or the Philippine National Police. It’s really strange where the millions of her confidential funds go,” Gadon explained.
