Senatorial candidate Luis “Manong Chavit” Singson is set to launch the VBank app, a digital banking platform designed to improve financial inclusion in the Philippines, on Sunday, 15 December . The event will be held at 3:30 PM at the Bridgetowne Destination Estate in Quezon City during the Blackout Festival, with celebrity guest Ai Ai delas Alas joining Singson for the launch.

VBank aims to provide Filipinos with accessible financial services by enabling users to open bank accounts through the app, eliminating the need for traditional paperwork. The app offers features such as money transfers to banks and digital wallets, bill payments, and mobile load purchases. It also connects users to over 6,000 cash-in outlets nationwide, including Tambunting Pawnshops, Puregold, and Alfamart, ensuring convenient transactions even in remote areas.

“This is not just about banking; it’s about giving every Filipino the tools to participate in our economy,” Singson said during a public demonstration of the app. “VBank makes it possible for anyone, regardless of location, to access essential financial services.”

The initiative reflects VBank’s commitment to addressing financial challenges faced by unbanked and underserved communities. According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, 77 percent of Filipinos remain unbanked, relying on informal financial systems. The app seeks to bridge this gap by offering secure, user-friendly services for individuals and small businesses, including tools for financial management and access to loans.

Singson, listed as No. 58 on the Senate ballot, highlighted the broader goal of fostering economic growth and resilience.

“This is the future of financial empowerment in the Philippines,” he said. “We’re not just launching a product; we’re creating growth opportunities, especially in areas like Pangasinan, where access to financial services is limited.”

The event will also feature a press conference at the exclusive VBank lounge, providing additional details about the app’s features and impact. Singson’s campaign slogan, “May Isang Salita,” underscores his dedication to fulfilling his promises and promoting integrity in public service.
