Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes impressed each other in ‘Topak’

Actors Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes are thrilled to reunite in the movie Topak, an official entry in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival. Their first collaboration was in the 2020 Kapamilya series 24/7.

During the grand media conference for their latest film, Arjo and Julia expressed admiration for each other’s work, showcasing their renewed appreciation and respect.

“Si Julia is always someone who I look forward to working with. Walang arte. Sa action, kahit ano ipagawa sa kanya, she can do it. So, dito sa Topak, she showed her versatility. Hindi naman ito ‘yung first time niyang mag-action, but definitely this is different. Pag sinabing iba, mayroon siyang mga ginawang kakaiba rito. Ang galing niya and it really shows sa movie (Julia has something new to offer in this film),” Arjo said.

For a single word to describe Julia, Arjo has this to say: “As a colleague, she is creative. She surprises me with her creativity. Pag hindi ko siya kaeksena I watch her and she really surprises me with her attacks. Si Julia is always someone who I look forward to working with. Sa action, kahit ano ipagawa sa kanya, she can do it. So, dito sa Topak, she showed her versatility (Julia is always a surprise to work with; she gives her all in every scene),” he added.

Julia, meanwhile, has this one word to describe Arjo.

“For me, Arjo is brilliant as an actor and as a person,” said Julia. “Sa sobrang galing ni Arjo, a lang, makakalusot ka sa eksena. With this movie, ang daming ibinigay ni Arjo, hindi lang emosyon, physically ang daming ibinigay ni Arjo. So, dito bagong Arjo ang makikita niyo. Kaya dapat niyong panoorin (Arjo is a very generous actor when it comes to every scene. He gives his co-actors the time to shine).”

Directed by Richard Somes and produced by Nathan Studios, Fusee and Strawdogs, Topak will be in theaters 25 December.
