
Yes, we tend to forget the many little acts of kindness we can do in order to safeguard our health and well-being. Here is a checklist supporting the three aspects of who you are — body, mind and spirit.
Nourish the body
1. Green consciousness. Think green at all times. You need the live enzymes and chlorophyll in your system. Add more vegetables to your diet.
2. Fiber up. Add more greens and whole grains to your meals.
3. Limit the white stuff. If you can replace white bread, white rice and white sugar with wheat bread, brown/red rice and coconut sugar/stevia.
4. Trim the fat. Remove animal fat from your meat consumption. You can manage your cholesterol levels better by doing this.
5. Move that body. A sedentary life will contribute to aging. So walk, swim, run and dance.
6. Rest more. Always make time for relaxation. Manage your nervous system. Add Vitamin B complex.
7. Sleep better. Observe regular sleeping time.
8. Drink a glassful of water every hour.
Calm the mind
1. Learn to close your eyes whenever possible. This practice leads to better harmony.
2. Practice mindful breathing. Upon waking up in the morning and retiring at night, meditate for 10 to 15 minutes.
Follow the five counts inhale hold three counts, exhale five counts routine.
3. Do not overload your day and night with multiple activities. Stay focused on maintaining balance.
4. Choose to listen only to good news.
5. Smile. It will brighten your mood and day.
Invoke the Spirit
1. This is a powerful tool. The act of invoking only the good in your life.
2. Drive away your inner demons by rejecting the negative. Banish your dark thoughts which can diminish your spirit.
3. Be grateful. Say thank you every day.
4. Make time for prayer daily.
