City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Central Luzon’s passing rate for professional licensure exams has consistently outperformed the national average, exceeding it by 50.79 percent.
Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) regional director Paul Aban revealed that Region 3’s passing rate reached 53.01 percent in 2023, producing 27 topnotchers.
As of 16 October 2024, the region’s passing rate further improved to 56 percent, surpassing the national rate of 54.07 percent.
Aban stressed the commission’s commitment to integrity and quality.
“We’re strict, there’s no leakage or cheating. We stick to the policies of the commission. Also, we’re not just producing a large number of passers but quality passers,” Aban said.
Since 2021, Central Luzon has consistently produced topnotchers, including those ranking first, second and third in various exams. This achievement solidifies the region’s position as a center of excellence.
To improve efficiency, the PRC has streamlined its services in Central Luzon, transitioning to online appointments and digital payments. This shift has significantly reduced processing time for services like license ID and notice of admission, now taking only about five minutes.
The PRC has also partnered with the Department of Education to utilize public school facilities for board exams, particularly for the teacher licensure exam, which typically attracts over 9,000 applicants in the region.
