The Philippine national men's football team settled for a 1-1 draw against Myanmar to kickoff its ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup campaign at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium Thursday evening.

Maung Maung Lwin drew first blood for the Burmese after scoring in the from a free kick in the 25th minute.

After a yellow card by Zin Nyi Nyi Aung in the penalty box,  Bjorn Kristensen converted his penalty kick in the 72nd minute to even the odds.

Michael Baldisimo had a golden opportunity to give the Nationals the lead in the 10th minute of added time but his shot was too powerful that it sent the ball over the crossbar.

The Philippines will face off against Laos on Sunday at the New Laos National Stadium in Vientiane on Sunday.
