Published on

The 2025 Asian Tour is set to launch with a dynamic and action-packed calendar, featuring 22 events and over US$30 million in prize money, with more tournaments expected to be added throughout the year.

One of the most anticipated events is the return of the Philippine Open after a six-year absence. Scheduled for January, the Philippine Open will mark a strong start to the year before the inaugural International Series India, presented by DLF, takes place the following week, further enhancing the Tour’s appeal across the region.

Following these early-season highlights, the Asian Tour will move on to the New Zealand Open presented by Sky Sport and the second edition of the International Series Macau in March.

The year will also feature two of Korea’s premier golf tournaments: the GS Caltex Maekyung Open Championship and Kolon Korea Open, which will return in May and June, respectively.

The backbone of the 2025 schedule remains The International Series, which will feature 10 events as part of the ongoing partnership with LIV Golf.

Tournaments like the International Series Morocco, the BNI Indonesian Masters, the Hong Kong Open, and the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers will all be returning, with each event offering a minimum prize pool of US$2 million.

The PIF Saudi International, with a record-breaking prize pool of US$5 million, will be the richest event on the Tour.

Four new destinations will also be introduced, broadening the Tour’s global reach, while the International Series Rankings will continue to provide a pathway to the LIV Golf League in 2026.

Other returning events include the SJM Macau Open, the 41st Shinhan Donghae Open, the Saudi Open presented by PIF, and the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship in Chinese-Taipei.

The Mercuries Taiwan Masters and Taiwan Glass Taifong Open will also feature prominently on the calendar, adding more depth and variety to the season.

In addition to these exciting events, the 2025 season will allow players to earn significant prize money while competing for spots in prestigious global tournaments.

Cho Minn Thant, commissioner and CEO of the Asian Tour, shared his excitement for the upcoming year, noting that 2025 will be another milestone season with a prize pool surpassing US$30 million for the third consecutive year.

“We have come a long way since the Asian Tour was established 20 years ago. The 2025 season promises to provide great opportunities for our members, entertain millions of fans across the region, and bring back some familiar and beloved destinations,” Cho said. “We will provide regular updates as the schedule develops, with more exciting events on the horizon.”

Additionally, the Asian Tour will conclude 2025 with the Final Stage of the 2026 Qualifying School, offering an exciting finish to the season.

The current Asian Tour season concluded on a high note on Sunday, with Chile’s Joaquin Niemann winning the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, after a season that included 21 tournaments and a total prize pool of $33.75 million.

As the 2025 season kicks off, players and fans alike are eager to witness the exciting tournaments, new opportunities, and intense competition that the Asian Tour is known for.
