PCG, NMC call out Chinese Coast Guard's WPS harassment anew

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela and National Maritime Council spokesperson Alexander Lopez present to the media the latest incident of China's harrassment towards the Philippine Coast Guard in the vicinity of Bajo de Masinloc in the West Philippine Sea, Wednesday, 4 December 2024. They detail the Chinese Coast Guard and People's Liberation Army Navy vessels' aggressive actions toward PCG's BRP Teresa Magbanua and BRP Cabra and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources' (BFAR) BRP Datu Pagbuaya and BRP Datu Sanday while they were conducting a joint routine maritime patrol near Bajo de Masinloc in the West Philippine Sea. Lopez condemned China's continues "aggression, coercion, and intimidation," and said that the PCG and BFAR were conducting legal maritime ans humanitarian activities in the WPS. Tarriela also presented other incidents, this time around the vicinity of the Kalayan Island Group, where Chinese Coast Guards reportedly made aggressive maneuvers toward various Philippine vessels.
