Water, green projects get P2B from DBM
It’s one of our initiatives to further promote transparency, informed decision-making, as well as effective budget oversight

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released over P2 billion to local government units (LGUs) this year to build water systems and facilities for an active lifestyle, while stressing its transparency effort on local projects through its new online dashboard.
DBM on Tuesday said it distributed a total of P1 billion for 80 water supply projects of LGUs in 13 regions in the country.
The national government agency said the allocated budget is part of the Philippine Open Government Partnership which promotes collaborations between the public and private sectors and citizens in determining the urgent needs of their communities.
Aside from this, DBM said it released P1.055 billion to 80 LGUs nationwide under the Green Green Green Program which involves the construction of public spaces that encourages an active lifestyle and walking as a mode of transport.
P14.04-B support fund
The released amounts are part of the P14.04-billion Local Government Support Fund under the General Appropriations Act of 2024 or national budget for this year.
To ensure LGU’s financial accountability and DBM’s transparency to the public, the latter launched an online dashboard displaying the funding year, total and average support funds, total number of funded projects and locations of the projects.
“It’s one of our initiatives to further promote transparency, informed decision-making, as well as effective budget oversight,” Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
The national government agency said the allocated budget is part of the Philippine Open Government Partnership which promotes collaborations between the public and private sectors and citizens in determining the urgent needs of their communities.
The dashboard shows releases for the Local Government Support Fund dated 2021 onwards. It will be updated every 15th day of each month.
