Super app Grab Philippines is set to open its Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City by the first quarter of next year to augment the support to its ecosystem of driver, rider, and merchant partners, including MOVE IT motorcycle taxi drivers.

Spanning one hectare, the facility, which broke ground on Monday, aims to enhance stakeholder opportunities through programs in onboarding, skills training, road safety assessments, and digital capacity building.

“The Grab Asenso Center will ensure our partners — whether drivers, riders, or merchants — are equipped to succeed in today’s digital-first economy,” said Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines country head, during the groundbreaking ceremony.

“This facility represents our commitment to uplift communities and empower everyday entrepreneurs to thrive,” he added.

Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista commended the initiative, highlighting its potential to advance both transportation and livelihood opportunities.

“App-based platforms like Grab are key drivers of inclusive growth, bridging technology and opportunity,” Bautista said.

“Initiatives such as the Grab Asenso Center complement our efforts to modernize mobility while creating more dignified and sustainable livelihoods for transport workers. We look forward to seeing its impact on building a safer and more professional transportation network.”

Once operational, the Grab Asenso Center will replace the existing Grab Partner Center and offer expanded facilities, including a road safety training and assessment area, onboarding spaces for driver- and merchant-partners, and dedicated upskilling areas for Grab and MOVE IT partners.

According to Grab, the center supports its commitment to fostering inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods through technology and innovation.

Likewise, it aligns with the company’s pledge to generate 500,000 livelihood opportunities, bolstering the professional development and welfare of its partners across its various services.
