Filipino actor Enrique Gil makes his big-screen comeback with the new comedy film I Am Not Big Bird, which will hit theaters on Valentine's Day.
In a previous interview, Gil said he wanted to be a part of a film he could look back to when he was older and still find joy in "I wanna make a film na gusto kong kahit matanda na ako, na paulit-ulit kong papanuorin at matatawa pa rin ako — just to relax, have a good time and destress," Gil shared.
The two-minute trailer, which Black Sheep released on 19 January, shows Gil embarking with his friends on a trip to Thailand, where he is suddenly mistaken for a porn star named "Big Bird."

The film is directed by Victor Villanueva, the award-winning director behind Jesus is Dead (2016), Lucid (2019) and Kidnap for Romance (2023). The screenwriter, Lilit Reyes, had earlier said the film was inspired by the real-life experience of a friend who went on a trip to Thailand.
After the 31-year-old actor posted the film's trailer on his Instagram account, Gil received heartfelt and supportive comments from fans. The movie marks Gil's return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus.
Gil's last lead role in a movie was in the romantic-drama film Alone/Together in 2010, while his last appearance on the small screen was Make It With You in 2020, both with former onscreen partner Liza Soberano.
I Am Not Big Bird will hit theaters nationwide on 14 February.
