The Bureau of Immigration reported on Wednesday the arrest of a South Korean wanted in Seoul for his alleged involvement in telecommunications fraud at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga.
In a report given to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, the BI Border Control and Intelligence Unit identified the passenger as Lee Seunggon, who was intercepted at the Clark International Airport last Monday when he tried to board his flight via a Philippine Airlines flight bound for Incheon.
According to the BCIU, Lee was apprehended and prevented from departing when the immigration officer processing him saw that his identity had resulted in a positive hit in the BI’s database of foreign nationals with derogatory records.
Lee was also reportedly wanted by the Bureau, which filed a deportation case against him in June of last year on the grounds that he is an undesirable immigrant, in addition to being wanted in his own nation.
