Aviation authorities in the United States have temporarily grounded certain Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft in response to the emergency landing of an Alaska Airlines flight after one of its door blew off while taking off.
The grounding order of the Federal Aviation Authority put 18 of the airlines' planes out of service, CNN reported.
Triggering the order was the Friday incident wherein the AA plane made an emergency landing in Oregon because a fuselage plug blew off with passengers recording the incident on their phones.
No one was seriously injured in the mishap.
Stephanie King told CNN she was returning to her home in California after a visit to Portland when she heard a loud roar of wind on her Alaska Airlines flight Friday.
Several rows back from where King was seated, a section of the Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft had blown out shortly after takeoff.
An announcement by the flight attendants was drowned out by the noise of the airborne and open plane's running engine.
Several passengers closer to the hole in the plane were frantic and moved to empty seats away from the incident, King told CNN.
The panicky passengers were relieved when the plane safely landed less than 10 minutes after the scary incident.
