A Vietnamese national was apprehended by personnel of the Station Intelligence Section of the Pasay City police who were conducting covert security on the eve of New Year.
Report submitted by the police sowed the arrested suspect was identified as alias Quang, male, Vietnamese National for Violation of Section 11 and Section 12 of RA 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Paraphernalia) at about 4:30 p.m. on 31 December 2023 along Shore 1, Seaside Boulevard, Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.
The police confiscated from the suspect one medium self-sealing transparent plastic sachet containing one small self-sealing plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu weighing more or less 1.50 grams with standard price of P10,200, one small transparent self-sealing plastic sachet containing one color red unknown tablet, one glass tube pipe, two medium sized self-sealing transparent plastic containing two disposable lighter and one small transparent torn plastic bag containing several pieces of instant coffee pack.
Report showed while operatives of Station Intelligence Section were tasked to conduct covert security along Seaside Boulevard during New Year's Eve countdown, they chanced upon the suspect while standing along the sidewalk at the place of incident holding and tearing a transparent plastic bag and accidentally dropped its contents of instant coffee packs along the side walk which he immediately picked up.
The operatives tried to help the suspect pick up the coffee packs but inadvertently saw the suspect picking up the illegal drugs that fell to the ground.
Confiscated evidence was turned over to SPD Forensic Unit for qualitative and quantitative analysis while complaint for Violation of Section 11 and Section 12 of RA 9165 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Paraphernalia) was filed.
