Cagayan de Oro City — The local government here assured its residents and business owners in the city will be given courtesy and service for their convenience as it opened its annual business permit renewal and registration last Tuesday.
Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy also called on those in charge of the annual business permit renewal and registration to extend every courtesy and assistance to business owners.
"They are all in a hurry and want to finish their transactions early, so we should take extra effort to accommodate all of their requests for assistance as what is expected of us as public servants," Uy said.
Last December, Assistant City Treasurer for Operations Engr. Leonil Mistula said they expect about 30,000 businesses to file for permit renewal and registration in 2024.
He said it marked an increase from the over 20,000 businesses that filed for either permit renewal and registration in 2022.
During the "In Focus" program series hosted by the City Information Office, Mistula said they are encouraging the city's business owners to file for permit renewal/registration online at this link: services.cagayandeoro.gov.ph/bponline.
"As stated in our official City Hall website, we accept e-cash payments from accredited providers — GCash, PayMaya — and other e-wallets — as well as bank transfers," Mistula said.
As of 2 p.m. on the opening day of the annual business permit renewal and registration, City Hall's Business Permit and Licensing Division said about 214 small to medium enterprise owners filed for either business permit renewal or registration.
Mistula said they usually expect the onrush of business permit renewal and registration to occur on the days leading to the 20 January deadline.
