The National Housing Authority on Tuesday announced that it has amended a policy that will hasten processing, legalization and disposal of the remaining lots or units in different NHA housing projects across the country that are unawarded as of date.
NHA general manager Joeben Tai has signed Memorandum Circular 2023-086, which is an amendment to MC No. 2018-008 or known as the "Updated Guidelines on the Disposition of Unawarded Occupied Residential Lots/Units in NHA Projects."
Under the memo, the period for the issuance of the Notice to Apply and actual application of beneficiaries for the unawarded occupied residential lots/units shall be extended until end of December 2025, giving ample time for qualified housing occupants to legally acquire their homes.
Fast-tracking the disposition of housing units is pursuant to the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for government agencies to speed up the provision of its services to Filipino families in need towards the fulfillment of his Bagong Pilipinas goal.
Currently, the NHA has multiple housing projects under Tai's leadership — the Housing Program for Informal Settler Families living in danger areas; Housing Program for ISFs affected by the issuance of Supreme Court Mandamus in cleaning up the Manila Bay; Housing Program for ISFs affected by government projects; Resettlement Assistance Program for LGUs; Housing Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples; Housing Assistance Program for Former Rebels; Comprehensive Social Benefits Program for Military and Police Personnel Killed-ln-Action/Wounded-ln-Action and Killed-ln-Police Operations/Wounded-ln-Police Operations; Government Employees Housing Program; Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police/Overseas Filipino Workers; Housing Assistance Program for Calamity Victims; Emergency Housing Assistance Program and Settlements Upgrading.
