The National Capital Region Police Office laid down an intensive security operation for the Yuletide season yesterday as part of its initiatives to ensure safe and secured holidays for all.
Regional Director, PMGen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. along with District Directors, Chief of Offices and other concerned agencies led the conduct of inspection and visitation to monitor the peace and order situation of various public places in NCR.
As early as 20 December, Nartatez and Team NCRPO started visiting and inspecting terminal hubs, particularly at MRT and LRT stations, bus and jeepney terminals, churches, public markets, establishments, police stations, malls and other places of convergence in Metro Manila where passengers, tourists, and shoppers are expected to flock.
Places inspected include Baclaran Church, Baclaran Flea Market , LRT Line 1 Baclaran to Carriedo Station, Quiapo Church, Quiapo Flea Market, LRT Line 2 Recto to Araneta Center Cubao Station, Malls in Araneta Center, Bus Terminals along EDSA.
Nartatez also took the LRT ride to assess the current condition of commuters and to integrate solutions to possible risks and uncertainties during the commute.
During the holiday celebration, several police officers were also deployed to various public vicinities conducting patrolling, intensified police visibility, checkpoints and assisting on public assistant desks ready to respond to any emergencies.
The undertaking ensures that all areas meet the required standards for orderliness and security preparations to maintain safe transportation for the drivers, conductors and most especially the massive number of expected passengers who will have their holiday breaks in the province or even within NCR.
This also serves as an instrument to eliminate the occurrence of various crimes and other related incidents.
