Two robbery suspects victimizing convenience stores in Novaliches, Quezon City landed in jail after being caught by cops while in the middle of a heist on Thursday.
Quezon City Police District PS4 commander P/Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo identified the suspects as Renato Tugado, 21 years old; and Carlo Tapang, 23, both residents of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches.
Castillo said his men caught the duo while robbing the Alfamart Convenient Store, located along Susano Road, Barangay San Agustin at 2:23 a.m. last 21 December.
A worker of the convenience store saw the suspects on his mobile phone connected to the CCTV camera inside the store, taking their loot, prompting him to call the police.
PS 4 personnel immediately responded to verify the report and upon arrival, they saw and arrested the suspects inside the establishment.

The arrested suspects were charged with robbery before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
QCPD director P/Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan lauded the quick response of PS 4 personnel that led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen items.
