BAGUIO CITY — A multiple vehicle collision left one individual dead and injured 13 others at Sitio Salpang, Barangay Taloy Sur, Marcos Highway, Tuba, Benguet on Monday evening.
Police reports said that the 14 victims include three minors, 10 elderlies and one adult and three vehicles were involved in the road mishap.
According to the Tuba Municipal Police, the incident happened at around 10:15 p.m. of the said date.
Initial police investigation disclosed that three vehicles were traversing the highway towards the province of La Union prior to the incident and upon reaching the vicinity of Sitio Salpang, the white van lost its brakes and started speeding downwards.
The van then sideswiped the SUV it was following and the impact caused the said SUV to go uncontrollably then bumped the rear of a pick-up truck. The van turned on its side at the northbound lane.
The incident left a person dead on the spot, while the other passengers who sustained injuries were rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center for treatment.
