
A 55-year-old electrician died after he was beaten severely by a barangay tanod during an argument about an illegal wiring connection Sunday afternoon in Pandacan, Manila.
Died while being treated at the Sta. Ana Hospital is the victim identified as Raynaldo Traballo y Ciar, resident of No. 1228 Durian Street, Kahilom 2, Pandacan, Manila.
While the suspect, a barangay watchman was identified as Geraldo Humagio, 37, resident of 188 Kahilom 2, Pandacan, who fled and have gone into hiding.
The suspect ran but was chased.
Based from the investigation of PSSg Irene Jay Manalili, Manila Police District-Homicide Section, the incident occurred at 5:40 p.m. Sunday at Paras Street, Kahilom 2, Pandacan, Manila.
Earlier the victim had a heated argument with a woman who was affected by the disconnection of electric wiring. The suspect suddenly intruded and invited the victim to the barangay office to explain what he did.
However, the situation got worse when the victim uttered unsavory remarks to the responding barangay tanod that he slapped the electrician in the face.
The suspect ran but was chased.
After the incident, the victim still went to the barangay office to complain before he was brought to the hospital but sadly expired in the evening while being treated.
The victim's body was brought to the PNP crime lab to determine the real cause of death.
