

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim has appointed lawyer Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba, a member of the Parliament of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority, as the new minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government.
The ceremonial handing of the MILG seal was led by Deputy Minister Ibrahim P. Ibay and witnessed by Senior Minister Abunawas "Von Al Haq" Maslamama, Members of Parliament and MILG BARMM officials and personnel.
Alba is the first female head of MILG and a Member of Parliament.
She is the floor leader of BTA and the Attorney General of the Bangsamoro Government, heading the Bangsamoro Attorney General's Office.
Alba expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her to lead the MILG and gave tribute to the accomplishments of her predecessor, Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo.
"I am very thankful for the trust given to me by CM Ebrahim in leading this powerful and one of the biggest ministries of BARMM. I am asking for your cooperation and support as your new leader in the ministry," Alba said.
MILG is one of the biggest and most powerful ministries of BARMM and needs a top-notch person to lead the ministry.
"I have immense respect for our former minister, Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo. He made significant contributions to the Bangsamoro Government and the leadership of MILG," Alba said as she assumed her post as minister of MILG.
"I am happy to be able to work with you and see how we can continue and perhaps even enhance and improve what the Ministry can do not only for the Bangsamoro Government but also for the BARMM," she told the MILG officials and personnel," Alba said.
