The local government of Manila is mulling the inclusion of minors with disabilities in its list of cash aid beneficiaries.
This, as Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna directed the Manila Department of Social Welfare to compile a list of eligible MWDs for the program's implementation.
The move follows the recent passage of Ordinance 8991 by the Manila City Council, authored by Councilor Fa Fugoso which amends previous ordinances that only granted cash aid to adult persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and solo parents.
Under the new ordinance, all MWDs aged 59 and below are entitled to a monthly allowance of P500 if they have resided in the city for at least six months.
