In the newspaper's objective to help Filipinos make informed decisions on where to make to multiply their income, Daily Tribune's Money section has joined the Philippine Stock Exchange in the crusade for financial literacy and in making the stock market inclusive.
Every Monday, Money and PSE sum up the performance of the bourse and listed shares from the previous week. (See page B12).
Highlighted in the bourse's dedicated space will be the earnings and dividend yields of particular stocks.
"The page is meant to provide investors with a guide," PSE president Ramon Monzon said.
Wise investing
"Ordinarily, investors are wary about putting their money in the stock market but when they see the earnings of listed companies, showing strong growth, then it might inspire them to invest," Monzon explained.
In the PSE Corner, the periodic earnings of particular stocks and sectors that comprises the market including dividend yields will be reviewed weekly.
"The corner will in a way, allow those looking at the stock market as an alternative investments option to be able to compare potential income with the usual returns from time deposits in banks," according to the bourse's head.
"I want small investors to know that the stock market is a good investment choice," Monzon indicated.
